Pappas
& Company in the News:
Complex Court Cases Need More Than Legal Expertise
(Phoenix Business Journal)
Money Talks: The
Accounting Enigma (Arizona Business Magazine)
From
its Scottsdale, Arizona, offices, Pappas & Company provides
forensic accounting, financial investigation, litigation
support and fraud investigating services for attorneys and
business owners in the Phoenix area and throughout Arizona.
Our financial investigation services are valuable in
performing due diligence, searching for hidden assets,
lending, and calculating
economic damages.
At Pappas & Company,
which has served the Phoenix area and other markets since 1980, fulfilling our mission with respect to
fraud and financial investigations and forensic accounting requires two
qualities that most CPAs lack. We have the ability to:
-
think like someone with an evil mind, and
-
look
for what is missing rather than just determining if
what is there is correct.
Instead of accepting financial records at their face value,
Pappas & Company approaches every financial investigation with the
presumptions that:
-
something is wrong, and
-
someone is bad.
Arizona attorneys and other professionals who rely on Pappas & Company
for fraud and financial investigations and forensic accounting
appreciate our accessibility and our:
-
attentiveness to their clients' matters,
-
our focus on the important issues, and
-
our preparedness in sifting through the financial
minutiae and articulating the key points.
We provide fraud and financial investigation, forensic accounting and
related litigation support services in a broad range of
financial applications, including examinations related to due
diligence, hidden assets, fraud, lending, and
economic damage
calculation.
Tax Knowledge. We are also experienced in providing tax services related
to our litigation support services, including tax issues related to divorce and
property settlements, and tax planning regarding litigation settlements.
Tenacity. Concentrating on providing high-value,
high-impact forensic accounting services, individually tailored to each
engagement, Pappas & Company is satisfied only when it has
followed all applicable investigative avenues and explored all
foreseeable causes and evidence of fraud on the part of
officers, employees, lenders, vendors and other parties to
which the client may be vulnerable.
Other
Client Benefits. Pappas & Company's thorough
examination of the operations and systems of its clients'
businesses frequently allows the firm to detect oversights,
omissions, misclassifications, control gaps or other hidden
problems that often escape the client's regular review
procedures. Whether our financial investigation reveals latent defects in loan documents,
inappropriate capital structure, or lack of proper risk
management techniques, Pappas & Company’s reports and
recommendations provide a road map to fraud prevention,
material improvement in company results, and increased
credibility of financial statements.
Pappas & Company offers a valuable combination of intellectual
ability, experience and responsive personal service, tailored
to the needs of each client and engagement. The
firm has provided forensic accounting and investigation
services in a variety of industries that have a high risk of
fraud, including real estate,
construction, mortgage lending, manufacturing, wholesale
distribution and retail.
Resources. Pappas & Company employs the most current
technology – enabling instant communication and document
access; rapid preparation of reports;
loss of income
calculations; and comprehensive in-house access to the latest
financial research resources – to serve the needs of the
firm’s clients. In addition, Pappas & Company’s strategic
relationships with forensic professionals allow the firm to
scale its size and human capital as appropriate to the scope
of the engagement.
